Body

The Los Angeles Hollywood Courthouse Modernization Project aims to modernize the existing courthouse building through adaptive reuse. The project has a budget of $44.6 million, which is expected to save $50 million compared to building a new structure. The scope of work includes upgrading three courtrooms, one hearing room, and increasing holding space, as well as updating codes and meeting security needs. The project uses the design-build process to speed up the construction timeline and reduce costs and risks. The Judicial Council is requested to adopt performance criteria for design-build entities and direct award the contract to the proposal that provides the best value.
