Judicial Council Committee Presentations

The Policy Coordination and Liaison Committee met on May 15, 2014, to discuss several pieces of legislation sponsored by the Judicial Council. The committee reviewed and approved minutes from its previous meeting. It then discussed four action items related to pending legislation: AB 2186 (defendant competency), AB 2625 (defendant competence), SB 1038 (juvenile petition dismissal), and AB 1887 (prostitution and human trafficking). The committee supported each of these bills with certain conditions or amendments. Finally, the committee received an informational update on upcoming legislative deadlines and budget hearings.
