Total Reported Occurrences
The graphic below provides an overview of reported occurrences of civil arrests in trial court facilities for the month of June. Users can hover over or select a particular county to obtain information about that county.
Please note that, for purposes of this dashboard, “occurrence” has the same meaning as “civil arrest,” which is defined in rule 10.440 to mean “the arrest of, or a communicated intent to arrest, an individual for an alleged violation of civil law. It does not include an arrest for an alleged violation of criminal law, or for contempt.”
Under this definition, an occurrence does not always mean that someone was taken into custody.
In some occurrences, no one was taken into custody; in others, more than one person was taken into custody. Courts are required to report both types of occurrences. For this reason, the number of occurrences may differ from the number of people taken into custody, as shown in the chart below.
