Overview
The Information Technology office is accepting applications for a Technology Analyst to join the Remote Video Services unit.
The Technology Analyst for Remote Video at the Judicial Council of California (JCC) provides broadcast design, assist with implementation and ongoing support and solutions for telecommunications, Audio Visual (AV), and video remote services for the Trial Courts, Judicial Council, Supreme Court and District Courts of Appeal. At the direction of the Supervisor and Sr. Technical Analysts, this person will provide technical expertise, project management assistance and support, business analysis, and acts as a liaison and facilitator to the programs that they are assigned to work on.
This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of broadcast and telecommunication equipment utilized in JC courts. Leverages both local and cloud-based resources hosting these systems and serves in a project management capacity. Serves as a subject matter expert for technical video remote services for the Judicial Council and the trial courts that receive services from Master Agreement vendors.
The Judicial Council
The Judicial Council of California is the policy setting body for the state court system and has constitutionally conferred statewide rule-making authority. This authority includes developing, advocating for, and allocating the judicial branch budget. A majority of Council members are California state justices and judges; however, the Council also includes lawyers, legislators, and court administrators.

The Judicial Council offers hybrid work arrangements for many positions. The successful candidate will be expected to work in person at the Judicial Council’s San Francisco or Sacramento office at least two days per week, based on their office leader’s direction, and reside in the areas surrounding these locations. To be eligible for Judicial Council employment and participation in the Judicial Council’s Hybrid Work Program, a prospective or current employee’s primary residence/remote work location must be in the State of California and within a 150-mile driving radius of their assigned reporting location.
Responsibilities
• For remote video support services, serve as the day-to-day technical advisor to the Judicial Council staff, the courts and technology vendors by assisting with the establishment of technical requirements. Provide technical support and troubleshooting, while serving as the technical point of contact for vendors, and other Judicial Council divisions.
• Provide project management support for assigned projects for video remote services. Participate and/or assist with the use of JC IT remote video software and hardware deployment process and artifacts. Update project schedule and associated plan; assist with identifying strategies and solutions; support requirements gathering; map business process and use cases.
• Provide remote video services for planning designing, implementing, configuration, and maintenance of assigned technology; collaborate with project team for rollout; prepare communication and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience maintaining infrastructure, including knowledge of servers, hardware, operating systems, enterprise mail and directory services, and/or network operating systems, network hardware, telecommunications, and security.
An additional four (4) years of professional experience as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
OR
Three (3) years as a Computer Support Specialist in the assigned field, or two (2) years as an Associate Analyst in the assigned field, with the Judicial Council of California, or three (3) years of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Computer Support Specialist, or two (2) years as an Associate Analyst in the assigned field, in a California superior court or California state-level government entity.
Desirable Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have competence and significant experience with:
• Knowledge of preparing and positioning audio, video and lighting equipment for broadcasts and recordings.
• Knowledge of connecting, tuning, and configuring AV setups to ensure high-quality broadcasting.
• Operating software to control AV technologies. Two (2) years of live streaming and video experience in technologies such as Blue Jeans, Microsoft Teams, or Cisco Webex.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in broadcast engineering, telephony, and remote video services. Experience with research technologies to include but not limited to Gartner Research Group.
• Knowledge in AV software technologies, to include but not limited to Pro Tools, Logic, Adobe Suite, and Final Cut Professional, Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Knowledge and understanding of ITIL4 practices
• Knowledge of data center hosting and storage of technologies of video and sound files to include MP3, Wav, MPG, MP4

Pay and Benefits
$7,513 - $11,270 per month
Please note due to statewide fiscal conditions, the posted salary range is subject to a temporary 3% reduction. In exchange for this reduction, judicial branch employees accrue an additional 5 hours of paid personal leave per month through June 30, 2027.
