The Judicial Council is considering allocating funds to two trial courts for their Children's Waiting Rooms (CWRs). The courts are requesting a $5 distribution effective July 1, 2014. Currently, 19 courts receive CWR distributions ranging from $3 to $5 per filing fee, with the highest annual distribution being $990,928. The Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee has recommended a policy and procedure for courts to request CWR distributions, including requirements for submission of requests and reapplication if certain conditions are met. The Judicial Council will consider these recommendations and the two court's requests for funding.
