The California Rules of Court, Rule 10.500, outlines fee guidelines for public access to judicial administrative records. The direct costs for duplicating or producing requested records are set at $0.10 per page for paper duplication on standard sizes and actual costs incurred by the judicial branch entity for electronic format production or larger paper sizes. Alternatively, a judicial branch entity can establish its own costs through a notice and comment period, which must be at least four weeks long. Once the notice and comment period is complete, the established costs will take effect after notification to the Judicial Council.
