The Native American Communities Justice Project identified the loss of traditional spirituality, lack of education about abuse, and sense of hopelessness as contributing factors to family violence. To address this issue, participants proposed solutions such as tribal youth groups, traditional healing methods, peer counseling, and community education on family violence. However, obstacles to implementing change include funding, tribal politics, law enforcement retention, and cultural competency training for state courts to effectively serve Native American communities.
