The Judicial Council received written communications from the Plumas and Sierra courts stating that they will reoccupy the Courthouse when their budget situations improve. In the meantime, the council is considering two alternatives: leasing the property to a third party or retaining it in its vacant state with ongoing operational costs. Leasing the property would offset ownership expenses and prevent blight in the local community, but would require staff to check creditworthiness of lessees and negotiate lease terms. The courts ceased operations at this location in November 2014, resulting in no operational impacts.
