Description: Summary: Assembly Bill 800 provides that a party who is participating in the Safe at Home program (an address confidentiality program run by the Secretary of State) may appear pseudonymously in a civil action, and that the true name of the party as well as any other identifying characteristics are to be kept confidential by the court and other parties in the case. The Civil and Small Claims Advisory Committee proposes a new form to be used by pseudonymous parties to provide their true names to the courts and the other parties to the action, and for all parties to the action to use to provide any other identifying characteristics that have been redacted from pleadings or other papers filed with the court.
