Web Services supports the Granicus streaming and meeting management platform for the branch.

What is Granicus?

Granicus is a meeting management and web streaming platform.  Granicus is broken into a number of different applications.

• Legistar - This is the meeting/agenda management tool.  It's used to create and manage all aspects of a meeting including: agenda, minutes, scheduling streaming events for meetings.  This tool is a desktop based app.  It communicates to the Insite Portal when new meetings are established, as well as schedules live web streams for meetings via MediaManager
• Insite Portal (JCC Meeting Information Center) - This is a user facing web property that lists meetings established through Legistar.
• MediaManager - This is a web-based tool for managing live and archived web streams.  Meetings established via Legistar are beamed here as live stream events.  In addition, MediaManager is used as a stand-alone tool for scheduling streaming events for webcasts that aren't managed through Legistar.
• LiveManager - This tool is a desktop app that manages a live web stream event.  It allows a user to start and stop a recording/stream and time-stamp items within an agenda for a meeting or other event.

Also, there is a hardware component - the encoder.  The branch currently has over 10 encoders setup at offices and courthouses across the state.  This hardware does the crunching to send a live or recorded web stream to internal viewers, as well as pushing the data to the Granicus cloud for general public viewing of streams.  In addition, a performance accelerator can be used to help distribute internal streams to more than the 50 concurrent users that the encoder alone can handle.
