The Chief Justice directed the Information Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) to report on the feasibility and resources necessary to pilot three technology innovations recommended by the Futures Commission: remote appearances for most noncriminal court proceedings; voice-to-text language interpretation services at court filing, service counters, and in self-help centers; and intelligent chat technology to provide self-help services. As a first step, workplans were developed to implement the recommendations. The workplans are due by September 29, 2017, pending approval from ITAC and the Judicial Council Technology Committee (JCTC).
The Committee will consider whether to recommend that the workplans for the Futures Commission Directives be approved by the Judicial Council Technology Committee (JCTC).

May 19, 2017 Action by Email
Proposed action by email between meetings under rule 10.75(o) will consider whether to recommend that two initial funding requests (IFRs)/Concepts move forward and develop into full budget concept proposals (BCPs). A BCP is a proposal to change the level of service or funding sources for activities authorized by the Legislature, or to propose new program activities not currently authorized. IFRs/Concepts are the first step in the BCP development process and provide an overview and vision for a potential BCPs. Due to timing constraints, the committee’s voting on these IFRs/Concepts will take place via action by email. The first IFR/Concept proposes to request funds for a Self-Represented Litigants Statewide E-Services Solution. The second IFR/Concept proposes to request funds for a statewide Single Sign-On Solution (i.e., Identity Management solution).
