John Wordlaw Biography
John Wordlaw is the Judicial Council’s Chief Administrative Officer, directing the council’s Administrative Division, effective December 1, 2016.
Mr. Wordlaw’s public service career spans more than 25 years. He previously served as the Chief Deputy Director of the Office of Systems Integration within the Health and Human Services Agency, where he was responsible for strategic policy planning. His extensive experience includes leadership responsibilities in government policymaking, collaborations with various state agencies, as well as budget, human resources, and information technology operations.
Prior to his role as Chief Deputy Director for the Office of Systems Integration, Mr. Wordlaw was Assistant Secretary of the Health and Human Services Agency. In 2011, he was appointed by the Governor to serve as Deputy Director of Fiscal Services for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where he was responsible for managing the department’s $9.2 billion annual budget. Mr. Wordlaw also served in management positions with the Department of Finance for nine years, including as Principal Program Budget Analyst. He spent his early career with the Employment Development Department serving in a number of analyst roles, and as a manager with the department’s legislative liaison office.
Mr. Wordlaw oversees operations for Budget Services, Branch Accounting and Procurement, Facilities Services, Human Resources, and Administrative Support.
