Third Appellate District to Hear Oral Argument at UC Davis School of Law
Sacramento—The Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, will hear oral argument at UC Davis School of Law on Monday, September 24, 2012, announced Administrative Presiding Justice Vance W. Raye.
This is the first time that a Court of Appeal session will be held at UC Davis. The session will begin at 9:30 a.m., King Hall, 400 Mrak Hall Drive, Davis. All interested members of the public, attorneys, and judges are welcome to attend.
The following two cases will be heard:
• The People v. Joanna Lorraine Peterson, case number C068893, Shasta County.
• Albert Garland v. Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, case number C067130, Butte County.
As part of this educational experience for law school students, justices of the Third Appellate District will discuss the court’s appellate process and will hold a question and answer session immediately following oral argument.
The Court of Appeal ordinarily holds oral argument in its courtroom at 621 Capitol Mall, 10th Floor, Sacramento. The Third Appellate District comprises 23 counties: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Yolo, and Yuba.
